Shipmates,

We are at the end of the first Quarter of 2022. It has continued to be an up and down challenge, but as our motto says Semper Paratus, we are always prepared. January’s meeting went virtual, but for February in my absence our Vice Commander Hornby worked and set up an in-person/virtual process for meetings at our building. We used it again in March and it went well. Gordon and I did recognize that we weren’t able to see and interact well with the virtual screens. We’ll fix that next month.

Our building is coming along. On Saturday March 12, a crew showed up for a workday in the midst of some pretty bad weather. Thanks to Hal Chase, Amy McPherson, Gordon Hornby and a guest Amber Porter from Flotilla 79 we got the tools organized, the kitchen one step closer to being done, the storage room organized, and most noticeable – the windows cleaned. They’re sparkling again. Bravo Zulu for that workday crew. There will be more opportunities ahead. We still have lots to do.

On the training front we currently have 32 members in REYR, which stands for REcertification required for failure to meet Yearly Requirements. Some are new members and some are members that took the required training in 2015 that are required to retake the training. What this means for those shipmates is that they will have suspended qualifications. So, when Martin Jordan our FSO-MT reaches out, please work on getting your training completed. Let’s get all up to date. If you have questions about it let me know.

As things continue to improve, I am planning to get all of the Flotilla Staff Officer’s together to kick off planning in each area and get things moving more normally again. Even if you’re not a FSO, if you have interest in working in a particular area, reach out and help get us moving back to “Operations Normal”.

Semper Paratus,

Jack Lee, Flotilla Commander
